Feedback on Team Dynamics |
1. How effectively did your group work?
I think that my group worked very effectively. Once we were in our designated group, communication happened smoothly and clearly. We were able to coordinate when we would meet to discuss the project, designate who would do what, and then have a clear schedule in place. Generally, I like to get started on projects well in advance, so I was hoping we could have started earlier, but once it was set, we were able to move forward very well.
2. Were the behaviours of any of your team members particularly valuable or detrimental to the team? Explain.
I believe the behaviours of the team were all valuable. I think that Julia stood out as someone who took initiative in preparing the google doc. However, generally everybody contributed their best to the team and it was a great relief, since in the past I have been in groups where the effort was not equally made by the members.
3. What did you learn about working in a group from this project that you will carry into your next group experience?
The main thing I learned about working in a group from this project that I will carry into my next group experience is to have everything prepared for the meetings. It is inefficient to have a series of text messages between people. Sometimes information does not get conveyed to everybody in those cases. However, if everything is settled within the meeting, then each person can disperse and finish their tasks. This involves having a place to output our work to, setting up deadlines, and finding times to meet. In future group experiences, I plan to help facilitate having a clear timeline with the other group members.
